There are places that immediately make sense. For Syzygy, Huskisson is one of them.
Set on the shores of Jervis Bay on the NSW South Coast, Huskisson brings together many of the qualities we look for when considering where to create remarkable natural surroundings, a strong local identity, an established community and the opportunity to contribute something genuinely considered.
It is a place we have come to know and love, and one where we are now investing for the long term, with two distinct residential projects, KAI Huskisson and Pearl Huskisson.
A place shaped by nature
Spend time in Huskisson, and its appeal becomes obvious. There is the turquoise water and extraordinary white sand for which Jervis Bay is known for. There are national parks, coastal walks and quiet coves, with places such as Greenfield Beach, Blenheim Beach, Hyams Beach and Murrays Beach all within the wider Jervis Bay landscape.
Then there is the wildlife. Jervis Bay Marine Park is home to bottlenose dolphins, fur seals, little penguins and other marine life, while migrating humpback and southern right whales can be seen at different times of the year.
But Huskisson is more than its natural beauty. It is a living coastal town, with independent businesses, places to eat and drink, local shops and a community that gives the area an energy beyond the traditional summer holiday season. That combination, nature and neighbourhood, escape and everyday life, is a large part of what drew us here.
Looking at coastal development differently
Australian coastal towns have traditionally been associated with the simple holiday home, somewhere practical, relaxed and uncomplicated. We believe there is also room for something more considered.
Our approach in Huskisson is not about changing what makes the town special. It is about responding to it, bringing the same level of architectural thinking, materiality and attention to detail to coastal living that we bring to our urban projects.
That means architecture influenced by its landscape. Materials selected for their character and longevity. Homes designed around how people actually want to live. And developments that feel specific to their location rather than transplanted from somewhere else.
It is an approach that reflects Syzygy more broadly: creating distinctive places through thoughtful design and a genuine understanding of context.
KAI: between coast and nature
At KAI Huskisson, the starting point is the Australian landscape. Located at 4 Murdoch Street, close to Moona Moona Creek, KAI has been conceived as a collection of 40 residences where the experience of the coast informs the architecture and interiors.

Native flora and fauna have influenced the design, with considered outdoor spaces and refined, practical interiors creating a connection between home and landscape. Natural stone, engineered oak and generous indoor-outdoor living reinforce that relationship.
Pearl: refined by the sea
Closer to the heart of town, Pearl Huskisson offers a different expression of the same philosophy. Pearl is a boutique collection of just 17 residences on Bowen Street, conceived around a sense of quiet coastal refinement.
The architecture and interiors take cues from the textures and tones of the Australian landscape, balancing softness with strength. Travertine, terrazzo and carefully considered joinery create spaces that feel tactile and enduring, while generous outdoor areas draw the surrounding environment into everyday life.

Where KAI celebrates its relationship with the broader natural landscape, Pearl responds to the intimacy and energy of Huskisson itself, offering a considered residential experience within the town.
Investing in a place we believe in
Having two projects in Huskisson is a meaningful commitment for Syzygy. We see an opportunity here to contribute to a coastal town that already has an extraordinary identity.
For us, good development starts with understanding place. In Huskisson, that place is defined by white sand and turquoise water, national park and marine life, independent businesses and a thriving local community. It is relaxed without feeling removed, and connected while retaining a distinctive sense of escape.
KAI and Pearl are different projects, designed for different sites. But they share the same ambition to create thoughtful, design-led coastal homes worthy of their surroundings.
And for Syzygy, they mark the beginning of an exciting chapter in Huskisson.
